DNS and your Internet security
DNS plays a critical role in almost every aspect of your Internet experience. Every time you visit a website, send an e-mail, or do almost anything on the Internet, DNS is involved.
Traditional DNS does not differentiate between good or bad sites. To address potential threats, users rely on different security counter-measures, such as anti-virus systems and firewalls to ensure corporate data is safe and intruders kept out. Anti-virus systems detect and eliminate well-known malicious code, but malware is becoming increasingly more complex and even the anti-virus industry is falling behind.
Today, more than 20% of all new domains are created exclusively for malicious purposes - Malware and Botnet - with the intention of infiltrating computer systems and committing denial of service attacks, stealing confidential business information and wasting precious bandwidth and computer resources, which in the end can become a costly affair for your company.
A Simple, Effective Solution
ScreenDNS is a service that secures both inbound and outbound communication at the DNS layer. Our simple tool provides a complete inspection, filtering, protection and reporting on the DNS traffic entering and exiting your network. Being a service, ScreenDNS does not require expensive hardware or software to be installed on every computer or device in your network. It proactively secures all the devices on your network regardless of the operating system or platform, by:
• Mitigating the threat of malware infections & data loss
• Detecting malware infected machines
• Fighting Botnets & malware
• Preventing access to malicious and illegal websites
ScreenDNS adds a true extra security layer; working BEFORE any data session has been initiated, thus blocking any threats before content is downloaded.
AvauntGuard works with 43 groups from around the world, to quickly obtain the latest security data, which therefore gives us faster response times than most other software solutions and able to block many 0 day threats (many of which the Antivirus solutions will be unable to block).
ScreenDNS also frees up time in your IT department by reducing your daily anti-virus alerts by up to 70% (Protection NOT limited to web traffic), allowing you to make better use of your time and improve your corporate security.

How does ScreenDNS work?
ScreenDNS is an easy solution to implement; taking a maximum of just 30 minutes to set up. Simply point your router, gateway or DHCP server’s DNS settings to the ScreenDNS IP address, then register your network IPs and configure your settings in our web interface. That’s all it takes to have the easiest and most effective system in place to protect your network and users.
ScreenDNS processes your DNS request, if it’s not in the caching DNS a lookup goes through the Root Name System – while doing that, it has time to perform an asynchronous lookup in multiple databases. The blocking criteria are divided into categories, which are maintained by our security experts. ScreenDNS currently exists in three different categories:
Reputational – Suspicious & possibly dangerous
Malice – Confirmed Malicious/fraudulent
Abusive – Confirmed Child pornography
Seamless, ScreenDNS is fully hosted, with complete server redundancy, ensuring 24/7/365 service availability. It is a Carrier Class solution; meaning no support workload for your IT department.
